I first read this story many years ago when I picked up the novel in paperback form in a used bookstore, and was captivated by its escapist fantasy. The story starts out sci-fi enough, but after the "transmission error" that delivers Daniel and his two fellow convicts to the wrong planet, it turns right into a swords-and-sorcery sort of tale. Things are kept just believable enough to let you suspend belief throughout, this all could just maybe happen somewhere in the universe. Daniel and his friends tackle every danger and obstacle with confidence, competence and more than a little humor, and you'll laugh out loud at least once a chapter if not more. This book is one you'll reach for again and again when you're in the mood for a bit of light reading with a flavor of adventure and action.Product details

This book ranks up with my all-time favorite reads. Highly recommended. Very entertaining.
This book was good. An original plot and almost endless action make this book a good choice for those who like Sufi with a little original intrigue. I didn't give the best rating because I felt like the author painted himself into a figurative corner and was unable to resolve the storyline in what should have been a natural progression. In other words the ending left to much to the imagination although sometimes the best stories take a similar route. Still though, I truly enjoyed this book
